Joan Cajilig is a registered nurse with more than three decades of healthcare experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Visayas State University in the Philippines in 1988.
She began her nursing career at Texas Medical Center at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and the Texas Heart Institute in Houston, where she spent 15 years caring for patients in one of the nation’s leading cardiac centers. In 2001, she transitioned to the Emergency Department at St. Luke’s, where she developed a passion for emergency medicine and fast-paced patient care.
Throughout her career, Joan has played a key role in the development and successful launch of three freestanding emergency rooms in the Houston and Clear Lake areas. In 2017, she moved to New Braunfels, Texas, where she helped develop and continues to assist in the operations of Lonestar 24HR ER, contributing her extensive clinical and operational expertise to delivering high-quality emergency care to the community.
