Dr. Ortiz is a residency trained physician, certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Ortiz grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and then received his undergraduate education at Texas A&M University. He went on to receive is medical doctorate from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. From there, he attended the Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine, where he learned the art of emergency medical care.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Ortiz moved to Pueblo, Colorado and joined Southern Colorado Emergency Medical Associates. He served the last three years as President of the group and as the Chair of the Emergency Department. Dr. Ortiz assisted in the development of sepsis alert protocols, as well as coagulation alert protocols for the emergency department.
Dr. Ortiz is thankful to return to the great state of Texas and use his training and experience to provide excellent and personalized emergency medical care to the people of New Braunfels and the surrounding communities.
